I did not have the pleasure of meeting Jeanne Ciravolo at the Art of the Portrait Conference this past April. However, I did get to take home this fine work of art by participating in the 6x9 mystery sale event. Jeanne turned out to be the artist behind the work. Some day I hope to meet her. I feel very lucky to have this in my collection.

Starward by John Larriva
This painting happens to be my latest acquisition. It reminds me so much of PJ Harvey,
probably my most favorite singer/musician. I have painted a few portraits of PJ myself which
I happen to like very much. I had to used photos as reference material but of course I've lost that information and now I don't feel comfortable posting my interpretations without it. Maybe I'll post and just not take the credit;) I love John Larriva's interpretation. See his original post for more info.

Red Head #1: Cascade by John Larriva
I have several paintings of women with red hair hanging in my home. I will show them in no particular order. I don't know what it is about red heads but they must be great fun to paint.
This is the first painting I bought from John Larriva after seeing his art on his blog.
I love his technique and style (lively brushwork, color, full of expression).

The Silence (2010)
I watched this film yesterday. It's in German, subtitled of course. It was well done in my opinion.
I thought it would recommend it to those who like crime drama like The Killing, and The Bridge. For mature audiences only:
"13-year-old Sinikka vanishes on a hot summer night. Her bicycle is found in the exact place where a girl was killed 23 years ago. The dramatic present forces those involved in the original case to face their past."
Can't stop thinking about dance lately
Karole Armitage is a choreographer who I admire. To read more about her:
